May 30th, 2017 - Lifelong Sullivan Racing Supporter Dickie Allen Passes Away
On Monday, May 29 the racing world sadly lost a great supporter and a great friend. 53-year-old, Dickie Allen passed away in his home state of Louisiana.

“Dickie was one of those rare individuals, who got the most joy in life out of helping others,” Jack Sullivan said. “He was the kind of guy that would do whatever he could to support you both on the track and off the track. He had an awesome personality, and you knew whenever he was around that there would be no shortage of laughs. Professionally and personally he meant a lot to me. I’m really going to miss him.”

Allen resided in Denham Springs, Louisiana and owned Triple A Diesel with his wife Lisa. He was a hardcore race fan, and his love for the sport was further reinforced by his relentless support of countless racers and events.

Not only was he a dedicated sponsor of Sullivan, but over the years he sponsored and fielded cars for a long list of drivers, which included Wendell Wallace, James Ward, Neil Baggett and a host of others.

As he did all that he could to support racing over the past several years, he simultaneously battled severe illness. With the exception of his closest friends, most people never knew the battle that he was fighting. He made a point of never showing his fatigue.

“After his family, Dickie most loved racing and his trucking business. His illness the past few years kept him away from the track more than he would’ve liked, and I know that was really tough for him,” recollected Chris Sullivan – who owns Sullivan Racing. “He was probably the toughest and hardest fighting person I’ve ever met. They didn’t make many like Dickie, and the racing world will definitely not be the same without him. My heart goes out to his wife Lisa and his entire family.”

Details on Dickie Allen’s arrangements are currently being finalized.
